Lafayette or Baton Rouge?

The choice today was to backtrack West a short distance to Lafayatte, or go East to Baton Rouge where the majority of Southern mansions and estates lie on the Mississippi River. Due to the weather, we decided to catch up on shopping in Lafayette, then find a Cajun restaurant for a late lunch.

On recommendation, we chose Prejean's Cajun Restaurant, a short 17-minute drive from the RV park. We came to Cajun country for the food and, all I can say is, we are not disappointed. We chose an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, covered with a crayfish Etouffee. OMG was this tasty! Then, we both had the award-winning seafood Gumbo. And, of course, we couldn't leave without trying the homemade white chocolate bread pudding with bourbon cream sauce topping! Yes, we plan to eat our way across Louisiana!

That's all for now ... This minute, we are relaxing in the RV with a view of two of the ponds, listening to the rain patter on the roof. Tomorrow we head for Baton Rouge and hopefully, can catch a tour of a Southern antebellum mansion.
