London Bridge

This is about as close as we came to the famous London Bridge. Just too hot to get out and walk around.

Lake Havasu City Elks

We're staying a couple extra nights at Lake Havasu City Elks while the car gets fixed. Nice lodge, nice people, 98 degrees here today.

More Buckskin Mountain

More pix from Buckskin Mountain State Park. Louise and Terri went exploring today, while K&T's doggie, Bailey, stood guard. Ken and Dennis spent some time relaxing.

Parker, AZ

Now at Buckskin Mt. State Park in Parker Arizona for a couple nights. This is a very nice park, with the Colorado River on the west side. Unfortunately down in the canyon, so cell and ham radio will suffer a bit. Otherwise, we are relaxing 😎 with a nice dinner plan by Louise. It's called Jerusalem Chicken ... not sure why, and hope I didn't offend any Rabei out there!

Entering AZ

Yes, that's us to the left of the AZ sign. Terri got a great shot coming up behind us.

Road to Barstow

By the time I posted this we were 60 miles from our next stop for the night... Buckskin Mountain Park south of lake Havasu.

Arabian RV

A nice, clean place to spend the night. Pull-thru in gravel with full hookups for $31/night.

More Pix from Boron

Our traveling companions on the first leg of our trip, Brother Ken and wife Terri.

Domingo’s Mexican Restaurant

A trip to Boron would not be complete without a stop at Domingo's. He personally greeted us and spent time at our table with stories of his ride in an F-16 at Mach 1.5. A personable guy and Air Force vet, he is proud to talk about his two kids now serving.

Boron Borax Museum

Worth the stop on your way to Las Vegas. There's a lot of history here... the borax mine was the largest open-pit mine in the USA, and probably the only one. Borax was used on the tiles that protect the space shuttle on reentry, cleaning products and lots of other applications.

More from Fresno Elks

The view out our window this morning ... baby geese and a bit cloudy, but clearing. It sprinkled all night so we were treated to that soothing sound of rain on the roof.
The Lodge is closed but looks to be a nice one. Parking is back-in on grass. We had a wonderful dinner in K&T's place with high-stakes dice game afterwards. 😁
