We arrived at Road Runner RV Park in Deming, NM about 2:30 in the afternoon and were greeted by wide-open, full-hookup 30/50amp sites, on gravel for $28/night. This is a nice friendly park with a giant Walmart Superstore just 1.5 miles away. And, it's far enough from the highway and train tracks that I think we'll have a quiet night's sleep.
Tomorrow we are headed for Silver City, home of the third largest open-pit copper mine in the world (Wonder why they didn't name it "copper city", hmmmm?).
Founded in 1878 at an elevation of 6,100 feet, it's expected to be in the low 80's tomorrow ... a great temp for sightseeing, a light lunch outside, and a planned visit with friends from Tyrone, NM a short distance away. More to come ...
