Chattanooga, Tennessee X2

Today we made another trip to Tennessee to visit two incredible attractions. The first, Rock City Gardens, was like nothing we’ve ever seen before. This awe-inspiring citadel of rock evolved into a nationally recognized tourist attraction in the 30’s when Garnet Carter and his wife, Frieda, developed the natural marvel into the Rock City Gardens we know today, a breathtaking homage to nature and an enchanted tribute to fairytales.

From deep in the canyon with its perfectly maintained winding trails of rock, through and between huge boulders, to the top of Lover’s Leap where you can see seven (7) states out to the horizon, we were held in constant awe of the perfection with which this attraction was constructed.

Underground, we found Fairyland Caverns, as good as anything found in Disneyland. A few pix follow but hardly capture the magic.

If you're thinking "It's a small world" by now, you would be right. Thank God they weren't playing that song! I captured much, much more on camera, but will save the pix for later. I've got something else to show you ... How about a cavern tour that leads to and underground waterfall?

Welcome to Ruby Falls ... After the requisite gift shop tour, we boarded an elevator that dropped about 350 feet to cave level. Then, we hiked along well-made paths for about a mile until we arrived at the falls. Spectacular! Oh, and what goes in must come out ... the same path. Yes, we had a full day!
