Nooga Aquarium and Boat Ride

We spent the day in Chattanooga, Tennessee yesterday, about 1-1/2 hours from here. The Tennessee Aquarium sits on the bank of the beautiful Tennessee River, and is one of the best aquariums in the country, in my opinion. 

Such a great day ... beautiful weather and a perfect trip. This is a very unique aquarium in that you take a long escalator to the top, then wind your way down to ground-level where you are virtually under the large tanks and looking up, feeling you are under water with the fish. Also, lots of other cool creatures to look at in incredible habitats. A few pix follow:

Just a block away we found the Southern Belle riverboat and spent the rest of the afternoon cruising up/down the river. An incredible day with family.

That's the old paddle-wheeler in the background as we pulled away ... now a gift shop and hamburger shack!

After the boat ride, we headed for the Big River Brewing Company for dinner and a little sampling of local beer. A good day all around.
