Greensboro, North Carolina

After leaving Asheville, NC, we headed East towards Virginia Beach, where we will visit an old friend. We decided to stay a couple nights at the Greensboro KOA and look around the area for new adventures. Navigating in Greensboro is an experience in itself, by the way.

Our first stop after much driving in circles was the Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden. The weather was beautiful for a walk, so we headed into the garden on the mostly flat paths. As a bonus, there were beautiful bronze sculptures placed around the gardens and bridges that took you to a different area with more gorgeous flowers and trees. A few pictures follow ... Are favorite? Probably the most comfortable bench swings we have ever found!

Just across the street from the Garden we were directed to the Greensboro Bog ... an interesting live eco-system of trees and wood paths over water-filled areas. Here is were we found plenty of wildlife; ducks, squirrels, chipmunks, geese, butterfly's, etc, all having a great time on a beautiful day in the bog.

After much driving around in circles, we also found the main entrance to the Greensboro Arboretum. After the Gardens and the Bog, this was a bit less than what the name had you anticipate ... Still, a very nice walk in the park.

After a full morning of hiking through parks, we decided on a Thai food lunch, and found the perfect hole-in-the-wall that made us some of the best Thai food we've found anywhere. Now ... we needed to find our way back to the motorhome and relax before our trip to Virginia in the morning.
Stay tuned ...
