San Diego June/July Museums: Part 3

Another interesting museum in San Diego's Balboa Park is the Natural History (NAT for short). I will say "interesting" at this point, but certainly not as "amazing" as the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC.

Okay, I'll admit this one is a lot closer ... But, there were certain things on display here that boggled the mind. Where the Smithsonian had things displayed in dioramas in there natural habitat, frozen in time, this museum had some laying on their backs, frozen in time, in a glass case. Very strange, if you ask me.

So, yes it was interesting an a fun to visit, but now and then you would turn a corner or enter a room of exhibits and say to yourself, "What were they thinking?" First some cool stuff and a view looking down from the 2nd floor.

Okay, and some "not so cool" stuff ... you be the judge.

Oh wait, that's me ... I suppose I could be seen as cool, waiting to be attacked by the dino behind me. He didn't make any moves, so I felt pretty safe.

One or two more pix then I'll move on ... Note the tag hanging off the owls foot ... another weird one, also in a glass case. The look on his face is like, "What were they thinking?"

One of my favorites ... I guess the curators do have a sense of humor?

So, onward to Safari Park, SD Zoo and the USS Iowa battleship. Yes, there is always more to see when traveling with Den and Louise ... what can I say?
