Here we go, over Donner Summit on Hwy 80 and headed for Nevada. There is still a lot of snow on the ground, and the rivers on both sides of the Sierras are full, fast and cold.
Passing through Fernley, NV founded in 1904, now primarily an agricultural and ranching community. Next stop will be Fallon, NV to fuel up and water the team for the long hop across the desert.
But first, we simply can't pass up Middlegate Station for something cold to drink and one of those 9-napkin burgers! Yum!
We dry camp here one night, free, while we wait for Justin and Sandra to catch up to us. Middlegate Station is close to Fallon Naval Air Station and is a favorite hangout for pilots and support personnel. This pix is a small part of one wall of patches posted by them ... and others who stop by.
Tomorrow we head East on Hwy 50, said to be the loneliest road in America. Next stop is Ely, NV and more fun.

Very interesting route you've chosen, never been across NV that way before!
